New Year Bummer

I had nothing to do and no where to go last year and this year has greatly improved with invites to 2, read that 2 New Year parties... that I can't make. I've got a cold that won't go away and already missed work because of it. And I was looking forward to getting drunk and attempting to sing at the top of my lungs "Auld Lang Syne". I guess there's always next year. Bummer.

Picture Meme

This looked like way too much fun to past. Satcey posted it with instructions to google the answers. I did yahoo, just to try to avoid any repeats.

1. Age I'll be on my next birthday:

2. Place I would like to travel:

New Zealand has been number 1 for quite some time. It's those damned Lord of the Rings movies that made me want to go ever so badly...and than there's the accents. Yummm... :)

3. Favorite Place:

New Orleans will always be number 1, but New York follows behind.

4. Favorite food:

French Fries and Fresh Fish (aka sushi/sashimi). Always, always a winning combination!

Please note the Corona in the background. Beer is a fundamental player in crawfish boils.

5. Favorite animal:

It's funny becuse cats don't need lawn chairs.

6. Favorite Color:

While blue was the reigning champ for a loooong time, red is slowly pushing it out of it's place. I only I could wear make-up like that at work...

7. Town I was born in:

This is definitely what I did not have in mind.

8. Name of past pet:

Well it was beter than naming her "Baseball."

9. Name of past love:

The last time I saw him was when we were both in college, about 7 years ago. He didn't age too well.

10. My first name:

This wasn't the first thing that poppedup. I'll leave it at that.

11. Bad habit I have:

I couldn't think of a current one, so here's a blast from my past.

12. My first job:

I'll give you one guess.

13. Grandmother's name:
Two grandma's. Two names. Two pictures. One BIG difference.

14. College major
Round One:

Round Two:

Okay, no more memes till next year.

I Support Ron Paul!!

According to WWLtv, Ron Paul is totally up my alley! It was nice to see an anonymous author's quiz matched me up properly.

But it also brought up this guy...

Hmmm... I think I'll stick with Paul.

WARNING: Sesame Street Reruns may be bad to your child's health

Yes, the old Sesame Street episodes were definitely a child of its time, but sheesh, the peoples that were raised on the show are not a ruined people because of it's "unhealthy" world. Nothing wrong with an drugged out bird (I loved Snuffleupagus), a manically depressed grouch (I thought his trash can was quite lovely and especially spacious) and Cookie Monster's name is "cookie" monster for a reason.

The Future is Now

This afternoon I begun to salivate behind my co-workers shoulders while she played with the new application that is being uploaded on the designers computers: Mac's Leopard. I was only allowed to steal enough time to get a peek of it and see how smoothly it operated. You know how iTunes look, how the application is "organized"? Well that format was applied to the Leopard application and it looks so good. But that's not what made my jaw drop and that's not what this post is about...

My co-worker suggested if i wanted to see something really cool, I needed to go look up Microsoft's Surface. Which I did. You need to look. It is jaw-droppingly awesome! It can be simplified by describing it as an over-sized iPhone...sorta. Y'all just gotta see it. This is the stuff we've seen in all those furturistic movies! I can't wait to play with one...

HAPPY ALL HALLOW'S DAY!!

While my nose is not that big, I think I make a cute devil.

I love Halloween. My all time favorite holiday. What other time can a grown adult play make believe. I know, there is Mardi Gras, but it doesn't have candy!! CANDY!!

My fave Halloween was pretty much a pride point in my favor. About four years ago, me and someone I use to be friends with, CK, hung out in the Quarter. He went as Fred Flintstone (no surprise to those who know him!) and I went as Death. I was so proud of my costume; I had the white face, the ankh, the black, well, everything. I was even more interested in see who would know who I was. Of course, CK was recognized, with at least one person on evey block screaming "HEY FRED!!" Though I was not acknowledged at all. Than we sat at Cafe Du Monde to people watch.

We sat on a bench across the cafe, sharing it with this biker guy. (It's big bench)We had a nice little discussion about recognistion. CK said just not many people would know who I was. I debated that the folks that would recognise me wouldn't yell it out. Back and forh we with, nver mentioning who I was. All of a sudden the bike guy just turns to us and goes, "your Death, right?" Happiness and a big azz grin ensued. Only took one person to make that the best Halloween ever...in recent memory.

Solution and a Cutie

Interesting Chain letter:
Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately; illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida . .

Not me. I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win situation.

+ Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.

+ Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.

+ Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.

Any other problems you would like for me to solve today?

Now the cutie:

I so got pulled into the vortex of youTube, but thankfully, my screaming need for sleep is totally kicking in, so I had to share my favorite find (well, this and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" one. Davy's locker, hehehe)

Sch-weet!

*cue music* I can't waaa-it! I can't waa-it!

My most favorite artist has finally put out his second portfolio book, "Process Recess 2", that I've been waiting months and months and months to get! It finally was released and I ordered it and it's in the mail right now and it should show up tomorrow or Thursday and I'll get to look it over and love it and love it and love it till the end of time! James Jean rocks!

Now all I have to do is convince him to create a fleur de lis design at the low low price of twenty dollars. Any suggestions? Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

*Side Note: The editor discovered only a few months ago that James' first portfolio book "Process Recess" is a hot commodity and going for five times it's retail amount. The editor feels really good to have "Process Recess" in which she was able to purchase the first edition at it's retail price. "Sch-weet!", she delcared. (And the editor will NEVER sell it...for now.)

Sir Micheal Caine Forgot HIS Lines!!

And he is a total veteran! He had the bejesus scared out him during a Joker scene in which he couldn't hold his cool. You don't beleive that he did, well see for yourself! Everyone who has seen Heath Ledger in action has been raving about his performance.

Batman: The Dark Knight is gonna be sooo awesome! *squeal* I can't wait!

And on a side not, thanks to Stacey, my tattoo craving has popped back in. I winder how much it commisioin would be for James Jean to create a design for me. It can't be that expensive could it?
